XXIX Winter Universiade 2019 in Krasnoyarsk
The international sports competitions among students - XXIX World Winter Universiade, will take place in 2019 in Krasnoyarsk. The decision to hold the Winter Universiade 2019 in Krasnoyarsk was taken by the International University Sports Federation (FISU) on November 9, 2013 in Brussels.
The Universiade Village
The 2019 Universiade Village has a fundamental planning feature, it consists of two functionally different and geographically separated cores located in two venues of the SibFU campus and connected by a pedestrian boulevard. Both sports complexes are included in the territory of the university campus.

Athletes and members of delegations of the participating countries will be accommodated in the Universiade Village.
The mission of the Universiade Village is to create a safe and comfortable "home" environment, where athletes and members of delegations can feel the atmosphere of friendship, holiday, Siberian hospitality and will be provided with services of international standard.

In addition to residential buildings, the Universiade Village will house the necessary infrastructure facilities, including a main restaurant, shops, accreditation and information centres, a health care centre and others.

In fact, this will be a whole town that is located close to the main sports facilities and competition venues.

The boundaries of the Universiade Village will be physically secured by a perimeter according to the requirements of the FISU.
Key figures
  • Total area of the Village is 25.4 hectares.
  • Capacity of the village is more than 3000 athletes and members of sport delegations.
  • Capacity of the main restaurant is 1100 seats.
  • Maximum distance from the Universiade sports facilities is 60 minutes.
  • Village works from 25 February to 18 March 2019.

A multifunctional centre which, during the games, will be used as a main restaurant for 1100 seats.
The second block of the Multifunctional centre will include a fitness club, offices for delegation meetings. After the Universiade, it will be used by students for exercising and training sessions. The gyms will hold competitions in futsal, basketball and volleyball.
The Health care centre in the village will provide primary health care services for the participants.
The Health care centre is designed for 400 visits per shift. For the period of the games, it will work 24/7: at least 200 doctors and medical personnel will provide primary health care to athletes and members of delegations. Some of the centre's offices will be used for anti-doping procedures. It is further intended for health care services for SibFU students and staff, which is by the way nearly thirty thousand people, ten thousand of which live permanently on the campus. In addition to the university polyclinic, the building is going to house a number of research labs working in biomedical sphere.
Besides, already existing facilities of the University also will be used during the Universiade.

The Congress Hall, where the main accreditation centre, as well as the main information centre of the Universiade Village will be located at the time of the event.
The Universiade Village is envisaged to provide the leisure spots for evening pastime. For example, it will be an ethnic village on the football field. We have planned the flag alley and the welcome zone for official delegations; there will also be an area of welcome ceremonies for sport delegations in the centre of the campus.

When preparing the Universiade Village, we need to pay a special attention to additional services which are also required by the FISU: a beauty salon, liaison offices, stores, a pharmacy, a bank office, a post office, a gift shop, tailor's and cobbler shops, a sports equipment storage. All these facilities should make living in the Universiade Village more comfortable.
Volunteers Residence
Volunteers and technical staff of the Universiade will reside in the second core. The zone will provide volunteers with specific environment, as their time would be managed with avoiding excessive workload and providing proper rest.
